Always a joy hearing from Heidi Allen. I liked her description "I Solve Geological Problems -" I think that would be an awesome business card. Introducing her as a paleontologist I had this song in my head with apologies to They Might Be Giants "I Am A Paleontologist"
I love diggin' in the shore With just a pick and brush Finding microbialites is my aim So I'm never in a rush 'Cause the treasures that I seek Are rare and ancient sites Like a Enteropneusta jaw Or mighty stromatolites
Now all the kids Want these to stay Are lining up to see 'em In Shark Bay
I am a paleontologist That's who I am, that's who I am, that's who I am I am a paleontologist That's who I am, that's who I am, that's who I am
Could it be an acorn worms eating sand or mud and extracting organic detritus Or a coloured thrombolites Who could well out last us It's like pieces of a puzzle That I love to try and solve It's so fun to think about How these species has evolved
Now all the kids Want these to stay Are lining up to see 'em In Shark Bay

Is it a Cyanobacteria (I keep digging, digging, digging, digging) (Digging, digging, digging, digging) Maybe a Dendrolite? (Digging, digging, digging, digging) (Digging, digging, digging, digging) Or a Leiolite? (Digging, digging, digging, digging) (Digging, digging, digging, digging) (Digging, digging, digging, digging, diggin') MISS microbially induced sedimentary structures?
