What a great fun episode, you need to do the occasion sciencey-popculture podcasts like this one. 'A sound of thunder' is the short story by Ray Bradbury referenced by Dan Beeston with a butterfly crushed under a boot. Great story, terrible 2005 TV adaptation. One of my favourite time travel stories is the TV series 12 Monkeys. Predestination is based on a Robert Heinlein short story 'All you Zombies'. I saw Tom Cruise's 'edge of tomorrow'/Live Die Repeat' loved it though I prefer the manga title 'All you need is kill'.

I tired the first episode of 12 Monkeys but I get distracted by the fact that the time travel seemed to be the wrong form. Maybe I should give it another go.

Be mindful the TV series is now in its 4th and final season, plenty to binge if you enjoy it. Also I didn't notice it at first but the timeline changes without them realising, most noticeably with the scientists in the time machine chamber a couple of times I realised that when the time traveler returns there were different staff in different roles in the chamber from when they left.
