I don't hate it... i just don't think its a theory.

A theory can be tested, string theory can not be tested.

It is, at best, String Hypothesis

You did make that point in the podcast, sorry for the "hate" slight. Perhaps String Conjecture is more accurate?

Speaking of which, there's been some buzz lately about a tool for an unrealistic physics model. I'm not an expert, but I guess it depends a lot on the assumptions of one particular kind of toy theory:

I guess some journalists have been blowing it way out of proportion, including slashdot and io9. Still a fun read though, I enjoyed it. :mrgreen:

I read this a couple of days ago and thought 'ok. I don't know enough to even start trying to work out the veracity'.

If it's true it'll be testable, I guess
